At Killer Shorts, we are always seeking the best new voices in horror. And while we consistently receive over 1000+ submissions every year, we value quality over quantity. We’re looking for strong writers who are ready to take the next step in their career. Killer Shorts offers a unique path for horror screenwriters and authors to either help them get their short film produced or find literary representation.
We want to increase the number of strong horror scripts and prose short stories we are reading. And that is why Killer Shorts is very excited to be able to give out a discount code for any member of the HWA, aka the Horror Writers Association!

This code works on Coverfly only, on any category except for those with additional feedback. The Final Deadline is December 1st, with a final extended contest deadline of December 31st, 2024.
Killer Shorts accepts horror short screenplays up to 20 pages and short stories up to 6,000 words.
Killer Shorts has a long history of championing diverse voices, and has partnered with many organizations. Though they are not partnered or affiliated with the HWA in any way, they have seen many quality entries come from their members, and hope to see more in the future.
